SERRA AND CA

It turned out that on the cover of Flash Art magazine from 1977, a photograph of Richard Serra’s work “Terminal” from 1977 (presented on Documenta - 6 in Kassel) and a photo from the CA action “Slogan-1977” were printed side by side.

In 1979, Serra's "Terminal" was purchased by the city of Bochum for 350,000 Deutschmarks and installed at the intersection in front of Bochum's main train station. There is reason to believe that this work by Serra became the secret inspiration for the “Bochum actions” of SH and AM, carried out since 1990, when AM first came to Bochum (see AM`s text “Earthworks”, specifically the photo of Serra’s “Terminal” in Bochum - photo No. 16 in the list of photographs for the essay "Earthworks")

(The trailer for the documentary "Sehenden Auges. A Tribute to Max Imdahl" by Christoph Böll shows a small excerpt from the legendary radio show "Hallo Ü-Wagen" with Carmen Thomas, which tackled the controversial topic of "Terminal`s" placement in Bochum on July 24, 1980.) :
